Let me take you to an August back in 1892, where all hell broke loose in the House of Borden. With a small cast of four, Lizzie provides an alternate insider perspective in the true story of the Lizzie Borden case. Since the genre of music doesn’t quite match up with the time period, the costumes do the same and are only vaguely reminiscent of the 1890s. This show relies heavily on symbolism in telling the story and so my intention behind my costume designs was to be more symbolic rather than literal.
